Obituary

Alesia Regina Dyson Washington was born on February 3, 1964, in Fredericksburg, Virginia to the late Jefferson C. Dyson and Sylvia I. Dyson. She departed this life at home with her family and her lifelong love, Clayton Ellis on August 1, 2022. She was known to many as "Lisa".

Lisa attended school in the Spotsylvania County school system. Lisa accepted Christ early in her life. She was baptized at Sylvannah Baptist Church and passed her spirituality down to her children and her grandchildren. After high school, Lisa joined the United States Army where she was a Chef from 1983-1989. She was stationed in Germany for a few years. This translated well into her career as a Chef in many local restaurants and many family kitchens.

On January 24, 1985, Lisa gave birth to her eldest son, Reginald Avier Dyson. Later in life, she gave birth to her son Miles Lorenzo Dyson on December 27, 1992. She had a demanding presence and a boisterous personality. Lisa was a loving and devoted life partner, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and sister-in-law. If you ever met Lisa, you would never forget her.

Lisa is survived by her life partner, Clayton Ellis; her sons, Reginald Dyson (Michelle Dunn), and Miles Dyson; her honorary sons, Kenneth Jones, and Rodney Smith; brothers, Dominic Dyson (Michelle Dyson), and Jefferson Dyson II; uncles, Attorney James S. Dyson (Gwen), and Franklin Dyson (Juanita); aunts, Miriam Pendleton, Mary Garnett, and Reba Holmes; her grandchildren, Alanna, Cameron, Reggie, Kyleigha, Kyra, Jemell, Ahreeuana, Jayden, and Kayla; nieces and nephews, Oliver, Sean, Scott, Sylvia, Niyah, and Adi; and a host of other relatives.
