Addie
Martin
d. Jan 14, 2024
Early on Sunday morning, January 14, 2024, at the Rehab Center Westminster of Lake Ridge, Woodbridge, VA. Addie Idella Martin's spirit was slowly released by her guardian angel waiting for her to make the final journey of life. Slowly the cord was severed from her long illness as her spirit was released.
Matthews 25:23 -- Good and Faithful Servant His master replied, "Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!"
The Beginning ….
Addie Idella Martin was born on June 13, 1938, in Dumfries Virginia to the late Thomas T. and Elnora Nash Bates. She was educated at Cabin Branch School and Manassas Regional schools.
Addie was united in marriage to William Sylvester Martin on April 27, 1957. From that union they were blessed with two children Debra Ann Bates and William Sylvester Martin, Jr.
Addie affectionately known as "Sis" accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior" under the pastoral leadership of Paster W. Ervin Green on July 20, 1971, at Little Union Baptist Church
Professional Career and Family Life ….
Addie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had one of the most difficult and most rewarding careers in the world, Motherhood. She worked 24 hours a day with no days off and loved doing it. For thirty-seven years she tirelessly cared for her son, Junior, with love, compassion and resilience, until his passing. It brought her peace and boundless joy to reminisce and tell stories about her family. She was the pillar of strength, wisdom and encouragement for her family and friends. Addie extended those extraordinary qualities to Junior's caregivers and their families. She welcomed them into her home, and they became not only friends, but family. Addie was enormously proud of her grandchildren taking every opportunity to talk about them and their accomplishments.
