Brother Joe Louis Gibson was born Jan. 29, 1936, to the late Ethel Marie Gibson. The Lord called him home Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at his home in Spotsylvania County.

He had retired from Pat Haney Co. as a dump truck driver. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette R. Gibson.

Joe leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Jennifer A. Brown of Spotsylvania, Hazel L. Richardson of Jacksonville, Fla., and Barbara Griffin of Spotsylvania; eight grandchildren, Yolanda Brown and husband Kenneth of Louisa, Isaiah Brown of Spotsylvania, Emanuel and Tazmon Sims of Spotsylvania and David, Chrissy, Darrell and Daniel Griffith of Spotsylvania; two great-grandsons, Tymir and Tavion Brown of Louisa; one niece, Delphine Grigsby and husband Robert; one nephew, Mark Gibson; and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home, 200 Butternut Drive, Fredericksburg.
