Moses Poole, 91, of Fredericksburg passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Born in Essex County on Jan. 5. 1921, he had retired from working as a civilian employee at Marine Corps Base Quantico. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) in Fredericksburg.

He was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Ella Poole; sons Moses Clayborne Poole and Franklin Poole; and brothers Thomas and James "Bubbah" Poole.

He is survived by his wife, Ada L. Poole; daughters Gloria Poole Rollins (Wylie) and Sheila Poole Lord (Jerome); sons Ronald and Kenneth Poole; sister Mary Alethia Robinson; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.

The funeral will be held at noon Monday, Jan. 14, at Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site), with viewing at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle.
